Villa Orizzonte selected for “ABITARE: 80 Houses to Rethink Domestic Architecture” at Genova Design Week 2025
We are proud to announce that Villa Orizzonte has been selected to take part in the Platform Best House Selection exhibition, which will be held from 21-25 May at Palazzo della Borsa di Genova, during Genova Design Week 2025 .
Curated by Platform Architecture, the exhibition offers an important opportunity to reflect on and celebrate contemporary residential design.
Titled “ABITARE: 80 Houses to Rethink Domestic Architecture”, the exhibition stems from a simple yet profound desire: to question what it means today to live in a detached home.
The curatorial approach follows a dual path: on one hand, a will to represent the plurality of contemporary living; on the other, a search for a common thread connecting diverse architectural languages, geographical contexts, and personal interpretations in a collective reflection on the concept of home.
Only single-family, detached houses were selected—not to evoke bourgeois nostalgia or idealizations of the past, but to critically and curiously observe how this typology continues to be a fertile ground for architectural experimentation. Whether new constructions or renovations, each project tells a story of scale, context, identity, and relationship—with the landscape, with materials, with light, and above all, with its inhabitants.
Villa Orizzonte stands among these selected works for its ability to interpret the domestic space not as a passive refuge, but as an active device of life, meaning, and connection.
As part of the exhibition, Lorenzo Capucci, co-founder of UNICA Architects, will speak at the event on Saturday, May 24 at 4:30 PM, sharing insights into the project and the design philosophy that drives our vision of contemporary living.
We look forward to seeing you in Genova for this important moment of exchange and dialogue on architecture and the evolving idea of home.
