Conservatorium, the project for the renovation of an apartment in the Eixample neighborhood in Barcelona, was published by the Italian online platform Pianeta Design, in an article by Daniela Giambrone.

"The request of the young couple who owned the apartment, was to make the most of the natural light from the large windows in the living area. The architects, therefore, opened up the living space as much as possible to the terrace. Another desire of the client was to maintain the original features of the house, which were decidedly charming, by restoring them and placing them alongside contemporary elements. In the renovation project, great attention was paid to the Catalan vaulted ceilings, the hydraulic tile flooring, the exposed stone walls, and the terrace windows, all of which were carefully recovered."

Riccardo Robustini and Lorenzo Capucci, UNICA Architects' founders, said: "The design of Conservatorium was inspired by memories of our walks in the Ciutadella, the noises and life surrounding the apartment. We wanted the house to tell its past history while maintaining a strongly contemporary character. Starting from the client's requests, we designed a dynamic space that emphasizes the contrasts between new and old, a quiet retreat in the heart of the chaos of the metropolis."
